Special Moments During MCCSN Walkathon 2000 |
The
Sundown Panarama

| Actor
Dan Biggers conversing with MCCSN President Jean Kalt. Dan has
been with us for two years now and really brings a lot of fun to the
program. |
Miss
Tennessee 2000 Beth Hood sings our National Anthem and other selections. |

| Miss
Teen Tennessee 1999 Brook Burns from Estill Springs returned this share
to share her talents. |
The
Grace Notes have been with the walkathon for a while now. This
acapella quartet traditionally opens the survivor lap with "Amazing
Grace". |

| Five-year
old Winchester native Caleb Norris brings the walkers to a screaching
halt in front of the stage as he performs some country hits. And
the crowd goes wild... |

| Valley
Grass brings us some lively blue grass music. |
Young
Christian rocker Matt Vollimar and company entertain the crowd
Saturday. |

| Channel
48 news anchor Liz Hurley, a breast cancer survivor, meets with fellow
survivors and newfound friends on Friday night. |
Congratualtions
are in order for Walton Duckworth, the first recipient of the MCCSN
Walkathon "One Tough Cookie" award. Walton is a 54-year
cancer survivor and he still gets around very well. |

| Walkers
crowd around the stage once more to see young survivor Jordan Turner sing with Spirit Filled. |

| We
have so many to serve during the walkathon that we are quickly
outgrowing our concessions stand. Thanks to Hardee's of Winchester
for the continued use of their facilities. |
The
Jone's once again man our drink wagon. We would like to thank all
of the volunteers that were there to lend a hand. |

| What
your step as our local Shriners take their go-karts to the track
Saturday morning. |

| The
"Circle of Light" honors those who lost their battle to cancer
this year. We are sad to report that our community lost 90 loved
ones to cancer this year alone. |

| They
are hard to see in these pictures, but we had over 1800 luminaries this
year honoring loved ones past and present. This was enough to
encircle Franklin County's High School's track twice. |

| 36
blood donations were collected on aboard Blood Assurance's "Vein
Train". |
Walkathon
2000's Inside Joke: Carol, I don't even think that you got to see it,
but we didn't forget about your special parking situation. |

| Beth
Hood, M-C Wayne, Brook Burns, and Co-Chairman Jim. Notice how
Wayne and Jim are trying to get this picture over quickly because they
see their wives rapidly and furiously approaching. |

| The
"Three Amigos" - Ian, Tim, and Peter. Without their
help, we figured afterwards that the whole thing would have had to been
called off. |

| Too
many others were left out of this collection simply because they did not
cross paths with my camera. A hardy thanks to Ray, Janet, Sheri,
The Edens, Willie and Lily, Mary, Alice, Ethel, Holly, Carol, Frank, all
of our ambassadors, our cooks, our concession workers and the whole
community. I can't leave out Kathleen. The rest of us, for
the most part, just work seasonally to put the walkathon together, but
Kathleen works hard year-around making sure that our community receives
the help that we set out in 1992 to give.
