While trying to update the blog I ran into a problem. It said "001 java.net.UnknownHostException: ftp.cafes.net"
All the GIS results were blogs of people complaining they can't upload their stuff. Here's how I solved it, and here's how you can. What the error means is that Blogger cannot resolve the IP address. This process is done through a DNS server which converts the names that are easy for our human brains to remember to numbers. Therefore, when this error occurs one can assume the DNS server blogger uses is down.
The way around this is to manually input the IP address. You can obtain it as follows.
Start > Run > command _enter_
at the prompt type "ping _whatever your ftp server is_"
it will return a few lines of code, and it will say "reply from _your FTP's IP address_"
input the IP into bloggers settings under your FTP server.
There it is.

So what does that have to do with DNS failure, Jeremy? Distinguishable, undigested, partially chewed bits of food. That's all I'm gonna say.

Putting in IP did not work for me. Any other ideas anyone ?

Is your problem still occuring? Typically even without inputting the IP the issue resolves after a short while.
