I'm drawing a line in the sand for those who wish to confront me. It is at personal insult. I shouldn't have to draw a line, but in the recent weeks at work it has become necessity. The environment at work is different... Whatever is occuring, I cannot allow myself to be a casualty.
I was called a liar today by a customer. He continued, insisting that "The customer is always right." Apparantly the customer is always right, to so much of a degree that they are allowed to make personal insults.
I want to punch his face until my knuckles bleed. If words cannot overcome the ignorance of man, then violence surely will. I mourn for the human race.

What was he accusing you of being a liar about?
Chuck - 5/17/2005 10:57:00 PM
He had misunderstood me the day before. His insurance was down, and not sending a co-pay back to me for his medicine. I ran it cash, and said that if they returned tomorrow, the insurance would most likely be working and I could arrange for a refund. It's not too uncommon that insurance providers are down, and sometimes we are. This is how we handle this. When he came in, he was already on the offensive, he said I had told him it was run on his insurance. He started pointing, slamming his insurance card, and his fist, down onto the counter, shouting accusations, even before I understood what the situation was. I didn't remember this person from the day before until after they had gome. I never got their name, it came to me afterwards. After being called a liar, I threw my hands in the air, and said "I won't work with you." And walked off.

this is why i suggest that on your lunch break after incidents such as this that you run across willow to the CVS, start slamming your fists on their counter, and scream everything the customer screamed at you to one of their employees. might as well make someone else want to choke someone for no good reason. never die alone. or something.

Just swap in a bunch of sleeping pills in his next new prescription and list the dosage as "10 taken directly before driving or operating heavy machinery."
And hook me up with some pain killers...
Chuck - 5/19/2005 09:18:00 PM
That's right, feel sorry for me. And no, Voyeur, Jesus taught us that we must bear this weight alone. I will try to not add to the discontent of the world. I am strong enough to shoulder her insignificant threats and accusations. After I vented... Itchy, NO. That's a bad Itchy. *hits head with rolled up newspaper*

Hmmm... I find the irony of you applying the teaching of Jesus to be encouraging and alarming all at the same time. Perhaps you are a big, fat liar? A little integrity never hurt Chuckie-poo. Besides, there is always the fact that you are in charge of this lady's medicinal supply. Screw sleeping pills, broadcast her Valtrex script over the loud-speaker.
I Love Drugs - 5/30/2005 06:05:00 AM
The person showed what a fool they are saying that the customer is always right... it's HEALTHCARE -- by this idiot's logic if he went to an MD & was told he had cancer he could tell the MD he was wrong just because & POOF-- no cancer. I had to call the cops once on a 60 yr old fool like this who was threatening to beat me up because his Zyrtec wasn't covered by Aetna BECAUSE CLARITIN WAS & STILL IS OTC AT A FRACTION OF THE COST. He was still waiting for me to get off work forty-five minutes later when the cops arrived. They had a little "chat" with him & the next day he called the district office to apologize & asked them to call me & let me know because he was too embarrassed to talk to me himself... Sometimes they do learn. Sometimes we have to resort to calling the cops. And I've got relatives that have no clue as to how stressful my career is. Ah well.

On a positive note, at least two customers today remarked that I had helped them. And there was some crazy dude also... see the 5/31 post. I love my job. :)
