I've had it for a little more than a month now and have managed to log about 15 hours of gameplay. Not that much considering how I played 2 and 3. Got any Civ 4 strategies? Post 'em here.

Do mean you've played it for 15 hours in a month because you've been busy and lacked leisure time, or you've played it 15 hours in a month because it hasn't interested you enough to play more? I ask because it's the only game on PC I would even consider buying at this time. Also, I played Civ 2 but missed 3.

My favorite Civ 3 strategy is even more viable in part 4. 1) Build settelers as fast as you can to have as many build locations as possible. Be careful to not over-do it as you may not be able to defend them all. 2) Use your land to block the development of your enemies. Enforce your borders as to not let them pass. 3) Research technologies that lead to new resources being displayed. Proactively seek out and develope the following resources while trying to prevent your neighbors from getting them: iron, horses, gunpowder, coal, oil, uranium. 4) When waging war, cut your enemies supplies of the above resources. This can be done by pillaging, and/or stationing troops on the resource square.
Did I miss anything?

Civ 4 rules. I don't have time for games though.

Who's your favorite nation for domination?

While there are distinct advantages for sucess with certain civilizations, I have stuck with Egyptians out of laziness. Russ has the best civilizations specific techniques I've heard yet.

Has anyone played a multiplayer game yet? That would probably be the only reason I would get it, if it is set up in a viable way to play with you and Russell.

With Civ3, and it's 18,000 versions it was difficult to get a multi-player going (I know, I tried). At the moment, as far as I know, there's only one Civ4 and therefore no compatability issues. Check your system specs to make sure you can run it. Or you can borrow mine before you purchase it to see if it runs well enough.

I'll check the system requirements, but I'm sure I'm fine there.
But has anyone actually played an online multiplayer game yet, either with friends or strangers?
Also, I'm a bit disappointed that the American leaders to choose from were Washington and Roosevelt. Obviously, our most popular leader in American history has been Hulk Hogan! I could imagine him dealing with other world leaders with the flag draped behind him... "Whatcha gonna do, Brother, whatcha gonna do, when my Animal Husbandry techonolgy runs wild, over you?!"
Then maybe Mr. T could be our Civilization Specific Unit.

Obviously, our most popular leader in American history has been Hulk Hogan! Then maybe Mr. T could be our Civilization Specific Unit. I have nothing to add. I just had to repost pure genius. No, I haven't played an internet game yet. I haven't actually seen it, but most games these days have a client that will connect you with like-minded gamers via internet. I'm sure that Civ4 has one.

I reposted your Civ4 rant at Broken Toys, Jordan. Thought you may want to know at least one person enjoyed it. :-)

I pity the fool that doesn't eat my Mr. T cereal!
