"I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her? Read the rest of Why Can't I Own a Canadian?

Well, As far a "Dr." Laura goes, refer to her bio at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Laura_Schlessinger
The "Criticisms" section pretty much shoots down her moral credibility (and read the part about her mom!). Such is the same for many of the other moral commentators in the media:
-O'Reilly: repeatedly calling one of the shows producers for phone sex while masturbating with a vibrator -Limbaugh: doctor shopping, addicted to painkillers (Chuck, do you have 2 cents to put in on that matter?)
I think the fact that most of them are merely trying to market themselves as a brand of entertainment dimishes the morals they supposedly stand for.
Heck, the article "Why Can't I Own a Canadian?" was a rebuttal to a statement "Dr." Laura made in 2002, and in July 2003 "Dr." Laura had decided she was no longer going to be a Jew!
This is why my radio only stays tuned to NPR, although mostly for the daytime classical music.

Also, does anyone remember those little comic Bible tracts people used to pass out?
This one is hilarious! (It's about D & D.)

Silly stuff like this produced to make a profit to me just seems to conflict with the morality of what it is based upon.
But I'll have to say, between this tract and all the stuff my church used to say about D & D (which admittedly was pretty bizarre in the 80's), I was scared of it as a kid!

And yeah, I've seen that chick tract before. A few months ago a friend emailed it to me. It's a good link.

Oh yeah, my two cents on Limbaugh. I'm unsure of where the story originally came from. If not from him, then shame on the healthcare worker who ratted, and shame on him for pretending to want to change in light of the news. If from him, then I commend him in his quest to better himself.
I see normal people getting addicted to opiates simply because of poor prescribing practices. There is also some level of legitimate addiction that may occur when one has chronic pain issues.

Limbaugh's housekeeper (some Hispanic lady, but that goes w/o saying) was being investigated by the cops. That's how the story broke.
Limbaugh was not only shopping for doctors to get him the meds, he was getting prescriptions filled from *multiple* doctors (getting him a shitload more painkillers than what would be prescribed by just one doctor).
His addiction supposedly originated from chronic back pain.
