It rained all day today. It thunderstormed. I kept my camera working through most of the trip, but at the final falls (pictures 17 and 18), I had nothing dry left to wipe the fog from my camera lens. Picture 17 is of the chasm that the falls poured into. I couldn't get an angle on it because it was too deep (~250 ft). It was a great hike. Bennett, Eric, and Stubs went with me.

Those last few pictures actually look like Sheep's Head Falls rather than Virgin Falls. (Sheep's Head Falls is on a loop trail between Big Laurel Falls and Virgin Falls).
That whole area of Scott's Gulf is one of the coolest places ever.

Glad to see you made it out of the forest in one piece. Those photographs are gorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen the falls that slow before...which is weird since it was raining. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
