Just a link, no judgement being passed. I hope you guys enjoy this link as much as I did.
I've been reluctant to mention this outside family, but the time for hesitation has passed. I'm almost 100% certain that I recruited a pharmacist. This is a $2000 bonus! Not to mention he's a great guy to work with, it'll be just as nice as a bunch of money to have a good co-worker.
My monitor has been on the fritz for weeks, I'm gonna try to just use my television for a monitor for a while and see how that works. My DVD player is also not working very well, does anyone know some good DVD viewing software that's free?
The reason I voted for Kerry was to prevent Bush from getting in office again. Bush started a war in Iraq that I feel wasn't necessary. Bush has taken what I feel is a dangerous stance toward foreign policy. I may be wrong, as it certainly hasn't taken the worst case scenario that I had envisioned a few years ago. Bush is a puppet of the oil industry, which through sheer nature of resource acquisition is warlike. And last, but not least, I don't believe in trickle down economics.
By having voted for Kerry doesn't mean that I agree with all the things he has said. I was suprised to hear that he backed faith based initiatived, which you already know my position on. Unfortunately, it was a question of "Who would screw up my country the least." Looking at Kerry's background, coming from money based in food and farm, he seemed like his interests would be much less warlike. While he might not have been consistant about his intentions for the war in Iraq, I don't think he would have made things any worse. Pick a point, or many points. If it's too out of hand I'll narrow it down.
Teens Who Make Virginity Pledges Have Substantially Improved Life Outcomes This is a good study. After looking at their data, it is certainly noteworthy, and helpful to those who track behaviour. What this web page does not show me, however, is the success of a program. Let me explain. This shows a population that is asked to fill out a virginity pledge after some seminar. The data only shows whether they filled out the form or not, and data obtained afterwards concerning the two parts (and later, more distinct parts) of the original population. What this doesn't show is the effectiveness of the persuasion of the program. Find me information on a double-blind study of two populations, one who underwent a program, another that didn't. Both populations should both be from the same socio-economic background, and not have any other noteworthy predispositions. My previous statements that abstinance programs don't work was based off of first-hand information from a professor that had worked in Africa, specificly dealing with the AIDs crisis. My position on this could change if I were shown enough good figures by what I consider unbiased research.

An unchanging view of right and wrong. Unchanging in the face of time, science, and technology. Can a meme thousands of years old really dictate accurately to people today how to live their lives?
If a person is accustomed to getting something for free, can they unlearn that? Is it unethical for me to tell a customer that I don't want to pay for their medicine, and that they can't get it? Is it unethical for a country to tell it's citizens that they don't want to pay for their medicine? Is it unethical for someone to make the decision to remove a pool of money from me, that I earned, in order to support a welfare class? A military project I'm opposed to? Spreading a doctrine that I don't believe in? Should I not be the judge of the things that benefit me?
For Monica: What you say?
See Previous Comments to get up to date. Frankly, the only issue with the government that I have is it's distance from the average citazen. This isn't necessary the governments fault, it's really my fault. I work 40 hours a week, and when it's all said and done, I have almost no time to endulge in CSPANing. My news intake is slanted more towards world issues, and science / technology. My point, is that retiries run the political machinery of this country. They have the necessary time and interest to CSPAN, and communicate with Senators and Congressmen. Retiries as a whole, are out of touch with the growing youth, the internet, technology, science, and feel their morals are absolute. They dictate the ways in which these concepts advance. Their unbudging ethics leave no room for compromise, it's all or nothing. Hollywood has fed us this line of shit our whole lives; this romantic view of "Right always triumps." Which is fun for stories, but the truth is, there is no such thing as Right, or Truth. All the fools throughout history claiming to know these things have all contradicted each other. So if we're left believing their legacy, then nothing is absolute. Including that statement.

Totally jelous of Carl, and his new-gas guzzeling monstrosity, I had to devise a plan to redirect the envy of my friends. A loan or two later, I found myself cruising the ghetto in my new convertable. "Jocking the bitches, slapping the hoes."
