The Leonids meteor shower will occur between November 14th - 20th, peaking on the 17th
For those who are interested in viewing this excellent event, I suggest the following:
Bring a tarp, lots of blankets and layers of clothes, a pillow, mugs with hot chocolate, and a location, well away from the city and light pollution where you may observe.
When I lived in Tullahoma, the Motlow Campus was excellent as it was out of town, and all their lights were turned off. This year I'll be going to my friends farm in Doyle, where electricity and running water are bedtime stories for the kids.
It's tough, lonely work dismantling your dreams.

The bearing of my car rotates, weightless - in all directions. It's night in Tennessee, the air is a perfect temperature and humidity. I hold my hand out the window, playing in the current. Water condenses on my warm skin. I am swimming in dense darkness, face upturned toward a million blinking stars. I breath deeply and try to decide what Tennessee smells like.
After a long talk with Ryan Nation last night, we decided that it would be entertaining to catalog all the people we went to school with and what they're into these days. Beginning of course with drug busts and moving our way up to those who made something of themselves. Mostly I'm just thinking of focusing on those who have arrest records.
So I'm reaching out to my small community of friends to ask for ideas. What should it be called? How should it be organized?
I'll be collecting data in the meantime...
