In 1998 I started working on my family tree. At that time I was attending classes at MTSU and of course things got
very hectic and my project was dropped. My father, Charles Winford Haynes, was alive then and remembered things that I was surprised were still fresh in his mind, but events that happened yesterday or even today, he had forgotten. It is to him that I dedicate this website.
For some reason, in June 2001 I decided to start again on my family genealogy. This time it has become an
obsession. I believe when I found a book on the Haynes Family in the Argie Cooper Library in Shelbyville, Tennessee by Larry Dale Haynes and Frances Haynes White, I was hooked. I just couldn't find out enough about my family. Since then, I have found things that I never knew about and found out things about relatives that I never knew existed. I have visited cemeteries, taken photos, obtained marriage records, death certificates, etc. Thanks to many family members and a very special lady with the Shelby Chapter DAR, I have received membership into the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution because I discovered my ancestor, John Haynes, was a Patriot of the American Revolution. For this, I am so proud.
With the links to the left, you can find out more about "My Family". I hope that other relatives may find this
information as useful to them as I have found information researched by other relatives. I have a feeling this project will last my lifetime. |
