The Family of
James Edward Haynes
James Edward (Jim) Haynes was the first child born to Isaac H. Haynes and Tabitha J. Beesley. He was born
July 07, 1850. James E. Haynes and Sallie E. Anderson were granted a license to marry on February 09, 1870 in
Bedford County, Tennessee and was married the same day by Thomas B. Marks, M.G. (see Bedford County
Marriage Records-Book B, Page 127 & 128). Jim and Sallie had ten children born of their union. They are as
follows:

Sallie died on March 25, 1894 and several of the children died shortly after their mother. According to family, the
spring from which the family had been drinking became contaminated and several family members caught typhoid
fever and died. Tabitha was 23 years old when she died, Mary was 26 and Lew was 38. No death records have
been found on the other children. After surviving his wife and several of his children, Jim died at age 76 on March
26, 1927. His death certificate indicates the cause of death as "sarcoma on face". Jim was buried in the Haynes
Family Cemetery on Shores Road of Rutherford County on March 27, 1827.
