Six holy days of obligation exist in the United States:

bulletJanuary 1, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God  (when it falls on a Saturday or Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is relaxed)
bulletSolemnity of the Ascension  (always is celebrated on the Seventh Sunday of Easter)
bulletAugust 15, the Solemnity of the Assumption  (when it falls on a Saturday or Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is relaxed)
bulletNovember 1, the Solemnity of the All Saints  (when it falls on a Saturday or Monday, the obligation to attend Mass is relaxed)
bulletDecember 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception  (when it falls on a Sunday, its celebration is always transferred to the following Monday and the obligation to attend Mass is relaxed; when it falls on any other day, the obligation of Mass attendance remains)
bulletDecember 25, the Solemnity of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ  (always celebrated with obligation to attend Mass)
