-CSAF has declared 4-11 Jul as Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadet Week.

Synopsis

 

-This initiative is designed to educate CAP cadets about the Air Force, show our support, and foster a closer working relationship between the CAP and Arnold AFB, Tennessee.

 

-The Tennessee Wing Encampment coincides with CAP Cadet Week. The Encampment Staff has agreed to work a base orientation into their schedule as long as we incorporate "Air Force Fundamentals" into our itinerary as it’s a crucial part of their required curriculum.

 

-All Tennessee and Northern Alabama Squadrons have also been invited.

 

 

Itinerary (7 Jul 04)

 

-0700-0715 Pick-up the encampment attendees at Smyrna NGB.

-0715-0815 Transport to Arnold (Approx 60-80 Cadets)

-0845-1030 Break-off for tours

-1030-1130 Orientation (Auditorium)

-- Welcome remarks and Milestone Award Presentation(s) (Brig Gen Stringer)

-- Briefing, AEDC Vision

-- Air Force Fundamentals

-1130-1230 Lunch (ALC)

-1230-1330 Transport back to Smyrna

 

Transportation

 

-AEDC provides transportation for Smyrna Encampment Cadets.

--118th AGW (Nashville) MAY provide C-130 Airlift from Smyrna. (CAP working with 118th.)

 

-All others by CAP Vehicles or POV

 

Personnel Security

 

-All members at Smyrna will be on a Mission Support Authorization from CAP-USAF.

 

-Other units will send a list of attendees, NLT 2 Jul 04.

 

"Air Force Fundamentals"

 

-Part of the encampment curriculum is "Air Force Fundamentals." The encampment is meant to be an introduction to military life. They've integrated their curriculum with the Air Force's force development program. 

 

-Fostering their curriculum in any way possible will aid them and help justify their trip while at encampment.

Lunch

 

-Lunch has been coordinated with the Arnold Lakeside Club (ALC).

-Lunch will cost $5 per person.

-Local organizations will be asked to help subsidize for the Cadets meals.
